The association. Since April 2009
Batrouniyat exists to create a living interaction between the producers of Batroun and to shed new light on the touristic, artistic and cultural life of the region. A hub where artisans and craftspeople share their skills, safeguard heritage, and sell their produce in an ever-growing marketplace, so they can build a life where they were born.

The story
Gebran and Chantal Bassil found Batrouniyat in April, to breathe new life into the region of Batroun.
A one-of-a-kind venue and a living pantry: forty-eight-plus traditional preserves, sold and safeguarded.
The harvest of over a hundred farmers, from towns across the caza, finds its market.
From weddings and choirs under the vaults to the roar of Batroun Foot City, Batrouniyat hosts it all.
What we do

A living pantry of Batroun. Forty-eight-plus traditional preserves, including the rare ones — dried fish, seashore grass, verjuice, tangerine syrup, chili paste, sage water, pumpkin jam.

We distribute the harvest of more than one hundred farmers from towns across the Batroun region, so growers can build a life where they were born.

Historic vaulted architecture and a garden host weddings, engagements and cultural and religious concerts — from private celebrations to the Saint Rafqa choir.

Distinctive Lebanese cooking that draws visitors and feeds the local economy, alongside a planned youth center for culture and sport.
